The Organisers:
Since 1953 the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) has promoted scientific collaboration and supported the work of engineers and scientists in 30 European countries.Today, the EFCE represents more than 100,000 chemical engineers in Europe. With its Working Parties and Sections it covers all areas of Chemical Engineering.
The Sustainability Section of EFCE envisions a future where chemical engineering leads the transition to sustainable development through systemic and holistic approaches, enhancing circular economy and ensuring the well-being of present and future generations. It aims to promote the rebuilding of industries that prioritize environmental, economic and social responsibility, utilizing innovative business models and technologies to create a harmonious balance between human needs and planetary viability. The Section is currently chaired by Prof Antonis Kokossis of the National Technical University of Athens. The Working Party Education (WPE) of EFCE consists of members from academia and industry out of 23 European countries (+ a corresponding members from Australia). It considers the current and future education and formation of chemical engineers through higher education and continuing professional development, promoting co-operation and sharing of best practice. The Working Party is currently chaired by Dr. Hermann J. Feise of BASF.
